Au-pair in Australia

In Australien there is no classic au-pair programme like in Europa, which means that there is no law or special visa for au-pairs.

You come to the country through Work &Travel programe and are allowed to work as a babysitter in Australian family. An au-pair works 30- 40 hours per week and earns about 150- 220 AUS$ plus accomodation and support. Language courses can be visited by the au-pair. They are not a must, but should be discussed with the host family in Australia. Notice, that the au-pair is not the only work you can do. With Work&Travel you can change it to any other kind of activity in Australia.
The au-pair or Work&Travel programme in Australia is possible only for the citizens of certain countries.
