Entry and stay formalities:
Au-pairs from EU and citizens of Australia, Canada, Monaco, Japan,
Lichtenschtein, New Zealand and Norway can travel with a valid passport or
other ID.
They should register in the foreign department of the police (Vreemdelingenpolitie).
Also, the following documents should be gathered: the invitation letter from the
host family, the au-pair contract, medical insurance and the non-conviction
certificate.
Non EU au-pairs need the visa which should be applied in the Dutch
embassy located in the au-pair‘s home country. For getting the visa you need
the temporary residence permit (MVV).
MVV is a limited residence permit which allows a foreigner to cross the border.
After your arrival in the Netherlands you should register in
the local foreign department of the police during three work days. You can
apply for the stay permit (Vergunning
Deadly Verblijf, VTV). Revision
of applications for handing VTV is
charged. Without MVV you cannot legally apply for VTV. If you entered the Netherlands without valid MVV
and applied for VTV, your application would be rejected. You get VTV if you
fulfil all the application conditions for the admission. For example, it
includes the amount of the salary of the person with whom you will live.
Public peace, order and the country security should not be disterbed
by your presence. These conditions were already checked during the process oft
he application for MVV. Nevertheless, the foreign department of the police
always takes final additional control. You need MVV when you want to apply for VTV
at the foreign department of the police. This is also needed when you want to have
the au-pair stay permit in the Netherlands and change it for another stay
purpose. In the Netherlands under the certain circumstances and for foreigners
with particilar nationalities MVV is not necessary for the application for VTV.
It is valid if you are a citizen of a member country of the European Union
(Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy,
Luxembourg, Austria, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain
(incl. Northern Ireland) and Sweden) or from one of the following countries:
Norway, Iceland, Switzerland (incl. Liechtenstein), Monaco, the USA, Australia,
Japan, New Zealand and Canada. More information about it you can find
here.
Specifics:

should be confirmed.
